Les artisans qui ont fait vibrer le Québec au fil des générations sont enfin prêts à dévoiler leurs secrets.  Dans une série d’entrevues exclusives spécialement réalisée par Pat Laprade et Bertrand Hébert pour ce livre, des personnes comme Edouard Carpentier, Gino Brito, Paul Vachon, Paul Leduc, Rick Martel, Raymond Rougeau et plusieurs autres nous laissent enfin pénétrer derrière le rideau, nous accueillant  dans leur vestiaire, ce qui est une première chez nous, afin de nous raconter la fabuleuse et fascinante épopée de la lutte au Québec mais aussi leur succès dans ce domaine à travers le monde sans excuse et sans prétention.  En plus d’une centaine de biographies sur les artisans de ce sport-spectacle, les auteurs détaillent plusieurs autres grands moments de la lutte québécoise, tels que les débuts de la lutte des nains, l’histoire de la lutte à la télévision, l’historique des quatre plus grandes promotions de lutte que la province a connues, certaines des plus grandes tragédies reliant les lutteurs d’ici et bien plus.  Forts de leur centaine d’entrevues exclusives et de milliers d’heures de recherche, Laprade et Hébert lèvent le voile sur certaines situations qui étaient jusqu’à ce jour très nébuleuses et font la lumière sur des événements qui étaient encore sous l’emprise des secrets de la lutte professionnelle. 

De Louis Cyr, Frank Gotch et Eugène Tremblay à Kevin Steen, El Generico et Sylvain Grenier, en passant par les Yvon Robert, Larry Moquin, Frank Valois, Jack Britton, la famille Rougeau, la famille Vachon, les frères Leduc, Dino Bravo et Pierre-Carl Ouellet, sans oublier la lutte féminine, la venue d’Hulk Hogan et de la WWF, la rivalité entre les As de la Lutte et Lutte Grand-Prix, les auteurs passent à travers les 4 grandes époques de la lutte au Québec, dans ce qui deviendra le livre le plus complet sur l’histoire de la lutte au Québec.  Le territoire de Montréal étant historiquement l’un des plus prolifiques de l’histoire de la lutte à l’échelle mondiale, ce livre se voudra un réel testament de ce sport-spectacle qui n’a été dépassé que par le hockey dans le cœur des Québécois.

For the very first time in its history, pro wrestling in the province of Quebec (Montreal territory) opens its doors and breaks kayfabe, as the main characters of its long legacy are willing to talk about their careers, their experiences and their secrets.  The authors, Pat Laprade and Bertrand Hébert, conducted a series of exclusive interviews for this book with most of the greatest wrestlers and personalities in the history of wrestling here, like Edouard Carpentier, Gino Brito, Paul Vachon, Paul Leduc, Rick Martel, Raymond Rougeau and many others.  In addition to the more than one hundred biographies, the authors explain in detail many other topics and great moments of Quebec wrestling history such as midget wrestling, wrestling on TV, the four main promotions in the province, some of the most tragic moments and much more.  With over one hundred interviews and thousands of hours researching facts and figures, Laprade and Hébert bring some insight to events that were still obscure and under the influence of the kayfabe era.

From Louis Cyr, Frank Gotch and Eugène Tremblay to Kevin Steen, El Generico, Sylvain Grenier as well as Yvon Robert, Larry Moquin, Frank Valois, Jack Britton, the Rougeau and Vachon families, the Leduc brothers, Dino Bravo and Pierre-Carl Ouellet, lest we forget women’s wrestling, Hulk Hogan and the WWF, the rivalry between All-Star Wrestling and Grand-Prix Wrestling, the authors go through the four main eras of wrestling in Montreal in what will become the most complete book on the Montreal territory.  Historically speaking, the area is one of the most successful on a worldwide stage and this book will become kind of a testament for this from of sports-entertainment that was only surpassed by hockey in the heart of Quebec fans.

The book will be released in English and published by Toronto’s ECW Press in the fall of 2012.  Among the books ECW Press has released, one can note the National Wrestling Alliance: The Untold story of the monopoly That Strangled Pro Wrestling, Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame The Canadians, Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame The Heels, Wrestling at the Chase: The Inside Story of Sam Muchnick and the Legends of Professional Wrestling and Death of WCW.  For now, only an electronic French version will be available, but if there’s any update, we’ll let you know.
